My creative writing includes short stories published in journals, anthologies and newspapers, and broadcast on national radio.

What Came Between, a collection of linked stories written as part of a PhD at the University of Newcastle and published by Scribe in 2009, includes seven previously published stories.

Five were published in Black Inc.’s The Best Australian Stories series: three in 2005 and others in 2006 and 2007. ‘Dust’, my story from 2006, was also included in The Best Australian Stories: Ten Year Collection.

In 2014, I was awarded a New Work grant by the Australia Council for Untold Stories, a collection of experimental stories that combine well-known facts, lesser-known facts, little white lies and outright pork pies.

I tease apart the facts from the fiction in a story featuring filmmakers Krzysztof Kieslowski and the Coen Brothers in an annotated version.

Other published stories from the collection feature writers Raymond Carver, Richard Ford and Tobias Wolff, Raymond Carver and Haruki Murakami, John Cheever and Ernest Hemingway.

My professional writing includes blog and social posts, reviews and articles, policies and procedures, proposals and submissions, product descriptions and technical manuals, fact sheets and handbooks, scripts for videos and dialogue for chatbots. Projects were for clients from a range of industries, including aged care, health care, medicine, technology, law, finance and recruitment.
